Well I recently changed my MIND on getting a new DEGREE..........Been in College for about a little over a year went from (PHOENIX to a COMMUNITY College) Now I have changed my MIND on getting an AA to just getting a CERTIFICATE the credits are about HALF of what a (AA)is so I can get an ECE Child Cert before the end of 2011.......It's more focusing on what i'm going to be doing than all that other stuff! Then i may go on a get another Cert and further my Fitness & Nutrition. I have a friend who has an AA and can't seem to get a job? They actually want her to have a CERT......... Just would like more opinions on this subject?

Just would like more opinions on this subject? I was in the same situation. A cert worked out fine for me. The only problem was that the job market tanked right about the time I finished, so I still don't have a job in the field I'm certified in. (graphic design) I sent out loads of applications and did a few interviews, but no luck. Now all the job ads have dried up. It depends on what job you're looking for. You should ask employers in your area what they expect of applicants in your field.

I guess it depends on what field you go into. My brother is in college right now. My advice to him and anyone else would be to research the job field your going to school in. Talk to employers and find out their requirments. Know the job outlook so you dont waste your time. It is rough out there. I have a ton of schooling in the medical field and it is still rough!!
Good luck to you.... I am impressed with anyone who works hard to get what they want! |
