I'm new here and will take a few days to really settle on a description. I'm both loud and shy. Perhaps the latter brings out the former as a defense. Widowed a bit over a year. Married late (shy, remember). She was quite a bit younger than I was, but cancer's dice are not particularly loaded according to age.

True respect comes when someone shows me where I'm wrong -- when someone has the intelligence and stamina to beat a bullheaded taurus at his own game.


Commentary on the questionaire:
Career: I'm a programmer. But my resume is stale, and I'm a warehouse guy for now. Meanwhile, my retirement fund is doing it all on its own.

Politics: They give the American choices. I don't fit the Canadian parties much better. I would have been a "Red Tory", one of the "progressives" in the old Progressive Conservate coalition. Joe Clark was my first vote. In the Mulroney era, I was a Presto fan - but that was in an era when the Reform party believed in getting along with people. The intolerance of the Stockwell era Reformers and the balanced budgets of the "blue" side of the Liberals send me to the Liberals where I've voted ever since. My local candidate is Art Hanger - there is no way I could ever vote for someone like him. My brother lives in Prentice's riding. If I lived there, I could perhaps be a Conservative again. But not for the hypocrisy of the current leadership. Sorry. I ramble. Politics is one of my hobbies.
