I'm hoping that by telling you what I'm looking for I'll tell you about myself in the process...

The guy I want to spend the rest of my life with does not have to be a professional doctor/lawyer type - but he should be intelligent. i don't want to be with someone who is constantly in awe of or (more likely) intimidated by my intelligence and accomplishments. I want to be able to have serious discussions about life, politics, religion, whatever - with someone who can challenge me on my beliefs and help me see the world in a new way.

The guy I marry will make me laugh so hard milk comes out of my nose. He enjoys being utterly silly at times (even if it's not always the most appropriate time) and gets my sarcastic, biting sense of humor.

I want to be with someone who will help get me off my lazy butt and out doing all those fun things i used to do (mountain biking, hiking, learning to surf, etc) when I had more time and energy.

But he has to be able to spend a lazy day reading the paper or a journal or a book while I do the same (or at least understand the fact that I need my alone time and that I love to read). In fact, the best case scenario is someone who likes to read the same books I do so we can have our own private little book club from time to time.

I'm looking for someone to travel the world with me and won't mind living without electricity or running water for a period of time.

I'm looking for someone who will maybe give me a child of my own and certainly help me raise ones we adopt.

My checklist doesn't have a lot of specifics on it (race, religion, income, background) - but instead a list of possibilities. I have a lot more I want to do with my life and I want to have fun doing it. Ideally there is someone out there who wants to join me in my journey and maybe take me down a couple paths I had not expected/intended.
